We analysed the 744 active professional-service firms currently listed in the CyprusDesk directory to see how Cyprus's accounting, legal, tax and company-formation market is actually shaped in 2026: which categories dominate, where firms cluster, and how clients rate them. Here is what the data shows.
Across 744 listed Cyprus firms, accountants are the single largest category (186 firms, 25%), and Nicosia and Limassol together hold 77% of all firms. The average Google rating is 4.65 out of 5 across the 612 firms that carry one, with accountants highest (4.79) and banking lowest (4.15).
What we analysed
This study is built from the CyprusDesk directory: 744 active firms across six categories in Cyprus's five main cities, each profiled with its category, city and (where available) a public Google rating. Ratings were available for 612 of the 744 firms (82%). Figures are current as of 2 July 2026.
One honest caveat up front: this is a curated directory sample, not a national census. Cyprus has thousands of registered practitioners (ICPAC alone counts several thousand members). The numbers below describe our directory of English-speaking firms aimed at foreigners and business owners, which is a useful, consistent lens on the market but not the full national register.
Cyprus professional services by category
Accountants and lawyers together make up almost half the directory. Bookkeeping and banking are the smallest categories, which reflects that bookkeeping is often bundled inside accounting practices and that Cyprus has a small number of banks and electronic-money institutions serving business clients.

Where Cyprus firms are located
Professional services in Cyprus are heavily concentrated. Nicosia, the capital and administrative centre, and Limassol, the corporate and shipping hub, hold more than three-quarters of all listed firms between them. Paphos, Larnaca and Famagusta each account for under 10%.

The practical takeaway: if you are relocating to Paphos or Larnaca, your local choice of firm is real but noticeably thinner than in Nicosia or Limassol. Many Cyprus firms serve clients remotely across the island, so location matters less than it once did, but face-to-face options are concentrated in the two big centres.
Client-satisfaction signal: Google ratings by category
Averaging the public Google rating of every listed firm that carries one gives a rough client-satisfaction signal by category. Accountants, lawyers and bookkeepers cluster near the top. Company-formation agents and, most notably, banking sit lower.

Banking scoring lowest is the standout finding, and it lines up with lived experience: for most foreigners setting up in Cyprus, incorporating the company is fast, but opening and running the business bank account is the slow, paperwork-heavy step. If you are planning a move, treat banking as the part to start early and choose carefully, not an afterthought.
Google ratings by city
Ratings are high and fairly even across all five cities, with the smaller coastal cities edging ahead of the two big hubs.

Methodology and limitations
The dataset is the 744 firms marked active in the CyprusDesk directory as of 2 July 2026, spanning accountants, corporate lawyers, tax advisors, company-formation agents, bookkeepers, and banks and EMIs, across Nicosia, Limassol, Paphos, Larnaca and Famagusta. Category and city are recorded per firm. Rating figures average the public Google rating of the 612 firms (82%) that carry one, and are a satisfaction signal, not an independent audit of service quality. This is a curated English-language directory sample, not the national professional register, so category and city shares describe our directory rather than the whole Cyprus market. We update these figures as the directory grows.
